The Lab: A Space for Brainstorming and Innovation

We’ve all been there. You’re sitting in front of your project, staring at a blank screen or sketchpad, waiting for that spark of inspiration to strike—and nothing comes. Or maybe you’ve got too many ideas bouncing around in your head, but none of them seem to land. It’s frustrating, it’s draining, and worst of all, it keeps you from doing what you do best—creating. That’s where The Lab comes in.

At The Social Tour, we wanted to create a space where people like you—creators, dreamers, innovators—can come together to brainstorm, collaborate, and break through those mental roadblocks. Every week, The Lab offers a structured but flexible two-hour session designed to help you tap into your creativity, develop fresh ideas, and get feedback from fellow creatives in a supportive environment. It’s not just a meeting—it’s a workshop for your mind.

What Happens at The Lab?

The beauty of The Lab is in its variety. We use different exercises each week to help shake things up and get your brain thinking in new ways. You might start the session with a mind-mapping exercise that lets you take an idea and run with it, exploring different angles and possibilities. Maybe the next week, you’ll dive into a reverse brainstorming session, where instead of coming up with solutions, you think about how to make the problem worse—then flip it around to discover new approaches.

One of my favorite parts is the Weekly Questionnaire. It’s a set of carefully crafted questions that digs deep into your project or creative challenge. These questions aren’t just surface-level stuff like “What’s your goal?”—they go deeper, helping you rethink your approach, uncover hidden motivations, or even spark entirely new ideas.

Then, there’s the Pitch it Fast exercise, where you have 60 seconds to pitch your idea to the group. Trust me, it’s harder than it sounds, but it’s also one of the best ways to really distill what your project is all about. And the feedback you get? Priceless.

Why Join us in The Lab?

Look, we all need that space—where we can be messy, explore wild ideas, and get constructive input without judgment. Whether you’re working on a new short film, launching a business, or just need to get unstuck on a project, The Lab offers that creative breathing room. It’s about coming in with an open mind, throwing ideas at the wall, and seeing what sticks.

The best part? You’re not alone in this. The Lab is a community of like-minded people who get it. You know, the kind who are just as passionate about their craft as you are. The ones who understand the highs and lows of the creative process. So, you’re not just brainstorming in a vacuum—you’re surrounded by people who can offer insights, feedback, or even just a fresh perspective you hadn’t considered.

When and Where?

We keep it simple. The Lab runs every Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Social Tour. If you’re a member of The Social Tour, the event is free—one of many perks of membership. If you’re not a member yet, no worries. You can still join us for just $20 per session, or you can consider signing up for an annual membership for exclusive access to all of our events and workshops.

Is The Lab for You?

Here’s the thing—whether you’re a filmmaker, photographer, writer, designer, entrepreneur, or someone with a passion project in the works, The Lab is designed for anyone who wants to think more creatively. You don’t need to be “stuck” to join (though if you are, it’ll help), and you don’t need to be in the middle of a project either. It’s open to anyone who wants to explore ideas, collaborate, and see where their creativity takes them.

Ready to Unlock Your Creativity?

So here’s my challenge to you: Show up. Bring whatever you’re working on—or just bring yourself—and see what happens. I promise you’ll walk away with something—whether it’s a new idea, a fresh perspective, or simply the motivation to get started again.

Spots are limited, so reserve your spot at the next Lab by signing up here and let’s make creativity a habit, not a struggle.
