This is your sign to check in with yourself. Yep, I’m talking to you. Your mid-year nudge. Your gentle but not really tap on the shoulder to check in with yourself.
Remember those goals you scribbled down on 1/1/2025 with full confidence, incense burning, mood board glowing, playlist vibing? How’s that going? No judgment, just asking. Have you made progress? Pivoted completely? Added 16 new goals even though you barely touched the original 3? Yeah, same.
If you don’t know where you stand, don’t worry, I got you. I’ve put together a six month self check-in to help you pause, reflect, and recalibrate. No toxic productivity here, just intentional time with yourself so you can keep moving forward without feeling like you’re sprinting in place.
Because if you’re anything like me, your brain is constantly scrolling even when your thumbs aren’t. Ideas, to dos, reminders, questions… they don’t stop. And while we’re busy trying to keep up with the world (that seems to be changing faster than ever), we forget to actually look at it.
Like, really look. Not through the screen. Not through a lens. But just… notice.
Take a walk. Spot a new business or a “coming soon” sign. Watch a tree that’s grown since winter. Or go post up in your favorite spot, city or nature, doesn’t matter, and give yourself an hour. Just journal. Let your thoughts exist outside your head for once. I swear it helps keep you grounded. These little check-ins are how we stay grounded when everything else feels like it’s floating in the chaos soup.
Honestly? The world feels weird. Off. Like we’re all trying to hold it together in public but fraying in private. Everyone seems scared, lost, confused… and running on a loop of pretending. We talk about “the simulation” like it’s some wild idea while moving through our days like we’re in it, on autopilot. Just enough awareness to know something’s off, but not enough energy to shift it.
That’s why I like putting moments like this on record. To mark time. To remind myself later that yes, this happened, So future me (or maybe even future you) can look back and say, “Damn, I was really in it.”
So with that said, here’s your official Mid-Year Check-In Questionnaire. Use it to reflect, course-correct, and maybe even laugh a little. If you feel like sharing, shoot me a DM @iambrandonavery or an email hellobrandon@thesocialtour.us; I read them, I promise.
As always, hope this helps.
Your Mid-Year Check-In
A moment of reflection, intention, and maybe even a little truth-telling.
(Answer in your notes app, journal, voice memo, or on a napkin, you do you)
1. What was the big goal you set at the top of the year? Have you made progress toward it? Why or why not?
(No fluff—just the facts.)
2. What’s one goal you quietly dropped, and what replaced it?
(Hint: The replacement could be a new goal, or just “protect my peace.” Both count.)
3. What’s working for you right now? (In life, habits, mindset, whatever.)
(Acknowledge the wins—especially the ones you didn’t see coming.)
4. What’s definitely not working and needs to go?
(Be honest with yourself. Energy vampires, outdated routines, the guilt habit…?)
5. What’s something you thought you’d care about but don’t anymore?
(This is growth. Celebrate that too.)
6. What’s something you didn’t expect to care about, but now you do?
(Your priorities are shifting. That’s a sign of alignment, not failure.)
7. Who have you become in the past six months? Describe them in three words.
(No wrong answers—just reflection.)
8. What’s one thing you want to feel more of in the next six months?
(Freedom? Clarity? Joy? Control? Peace?)
9. What’s one small habit or routine you could commit to that would support that feeling?
(It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Sometimes the smallest hinges swing the biggest doors.)
10. What would a successful December 31, 2025 look and feel like to you?
(Visualize it. Write it. Get specific. Let it anchor your next steps.)
