2025: The Year of the Creator

That’s right—just like I called it last year, I’m calling it again. But this isn’t just wishful thinking. It’s a call to action, a challenge to creators everywhere to be intentional about their craft, their goals, and their lives.

As I’ve said before (yes, like a broken record that somehow still plays the greatest hits): you have to show up for yourself. You have to be present and take deliberate steps toward what you’re seeking. Dreams don’t chase themselves, and greatness doesn’t come to those who wait passively.

So, here’s to us—the creators. With just shy of seven days left in the year, let’s take a moment to reflect. If your 2024 was anything like mine, it probably felt like a rollercoaster designed by aliens who moonlight as lemon-selling UFO pilots. Meanwhile, billionaires played real-life Monopoly, and we were left to navigate the chaos.

And yet, somehow, through all the madness, we thrived. We adapted. We created. We stayed focused on our dreams while constantly working to become the best versions of ourselves.

Why 2025 is Your Year

Whether you realize it or not, creators, 2025 is for you. But success in this year—and every year—requires a few key commitments:

  • Be Present: Show up, not just for others but for yourself. Every. Single. Day.
  • Be Intentional: Have a plan, no matter how small. Set your goals and take purposeful steps toward them.
  • Believe in Yourself: You don’t need anyone else’s validation. Your confidence and belief in your craft will open doors that doubt never could.
  • Invest in Yourself: Whether it’s your skills, your equipment, or your mindset, put in the time, energy, and resources to grow.

This is the year to stop talking about what you’re going to do “someday” and start taking action.

Reflect and Reset: Your 2024 Creator Checklist

Before we charge into the new year, take a moment to look back. Here’s a quick checklist to help you reflect on the year that was:

  1. Did I create consistently?
  2. Did I push myself outside of my comfort zone?
  3. Did I invest in my growth (mentally, creatively, and financially)?
  4. Did I celebrate my wins, no matter how small?
  5. Did I learn from my losses and setbacks?
  6. Did I collaborate and build meaningful connections?
  7. Did I stay true to my vision while remaining open to new ideas?

If you checked off most of these, congratulations—you’re on the right path. If not, that’s okay. Reflection is about honesty, not judgment. Use these questions to guide your next steps.

Jumpstart 2025: Your Creator Action Plan

Let’s get a head start on 2025 with this checklist. Mark it now, and we’ll check back in June to see how far we’ve come:

  1. Set Three Big Goals: What are three things you want to accomplish as a creator this year? Write them down and break them into smaller, actionable steps.
  2. Learn One New Skill: Commit to mastering something new that will elevate your craft.
  3. Network with Purpose: Reach out to at least five people who inspire you and find ways to collaborate or learn from them.
  4. Create a Routine: Establish a creative routine that works for you, whether it’s daily, weekly, or something in between.
  5. Showcase Your Work: Share your creations with the world, even if they’re not perfect. Perfection is the enemy of progress.
  6. Take Breaks: Remember, rest is productive. Burnout won’t help you achieve your dreams.
  7. Celebrate Small Wins: Each step forward, no matter how small, deserves recognition.

The Bottom Line

2025 isn’t just going to happen for us. It’s waiting for us to claim it. So let’s commit to being intentional, present, and fearless. Let’s dream big, work hard, and embrace every chaotic, beautiful moment.

Here’s to a year of growth, creation, and becoming the best version of ourselves. I’ll see you in June for that check-in—until then, keep creating and keep believing.

Let’s make 2025 our year. Cheers, creators.
